Things to Do and See
Finding things to do in Bayfield isn't difficult. Every time we visit we discover something new. In 2004 it was the hiking trail underneath the historic Iron Bridge constructed in 1912 by Wausau Iron Works (pictured below).

< < < One of our favorite stops is Hauser's Superior View Farm for apples, berries, flowers, preserves, and their excellent offerings in apple and berry wines.
On a clear day you can see the Apostle Islands From the top of Hauser's hay loft.
Hauser's is one of many farms and orchards in the Bayfield area with retail shops and open for tours. The high country orchard tour also offers a number of scenic vistas of the area.
Apostle Highlands Golf Course is one the most scenic of all Lake Superior courses.
The Bayfield Fall Scarecrow Festival runs from mid-September to Mid-October

- Enjoy music & entertainment at Big Top Chautauqua.
- Take the Ferry to Madeline Island and visiting historic La Pointe, one of the oldest settlements in the Upper Midwest.
- While at Madeline Island, visit the Historical Museum and take the Madeline Island Bus Tour.
- Stop at Apostle Islands National Lakeshore Visitor Center to learn about the history of the Islands and get information about touring and camping.
- Take an island cruise with the Apostle Islands Cruise Service or take sailboat cruise from one of several sailboat charter services.
- Tour the artist studios, crafts galleries, artisan shops and specialty retail stores.
- Drive or walk the historic district or take a Bayfield Heritage Tour.
- Sample the many fine restaurants and pubs, some featuring local musicians.
- Walk and explore the lakeshore park, the docks, the marina harbor and fishing markets.
- Learn to Kayak and explore the Sea Caves.
- Take an auto tour loop of the Bayfield Peninsula, visiting Little Sand Bay, Meyers Beach, Cornucopia, and Washburn.
- Drive to Ashland and visit the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center
- Enjoy a round of golf at Bayfield's Apostle Highlands Golf Course or drive to Ashland and Golf at Chequamegon Bay Golf Club
- Stop at the Bayfield Visitor Center for more ideas on things to do and see
