February 7, 2018. Recent Frigid temperatures but only modest snow accumulations. Some snow over the next ten days and temperatures begin to moderate somewhat.

For outdoor recreation, snowshoeing hiking trails is our favorite wintertime activity along the North Shore. Many others enjoy downhill skiing at Lutsen or Spirit Mountain, cross country skiing in the state parks and national forest trails, snowmobiling along the many excellent trails the entire length of the north shore, ice fishing, and other winter festival activities.
Below are a few of the Minnesota North Shore winter recreation and events, plus a snow conditions report links, we know are taking place from Duluth, MN to Grand Marais. Some of the dates for winter 2017-18 events have yet to be posted. When they are we'll update our calendar.
