Our favorite segment of the drive begins at Enger Park. While the drive offers great panoramic views of the city any time of the year, it is especially attractive during the fall color season. And during this season, a stop at Enger Park to climb the observation tower is a must. Another worthwhile fall color stop along the scenic drive is Hawk's Ridge to see hawks, falcons, and eagles during the fall migration.
Many people begin their tour of Skyline Parkway at the intersection of US Hwy 2 and I-35, near Spirit Mountain. The Minnesota Dept of Tourism Thompson Hill Visitor Center is nearby. Suggest checking with them for a Duluth City Streets map. It will help you navigate. You can also print out the map to the right as a rough guide. Once the map pops up, right click on it and select "print."
We've generally started our trips at Enger Park because it is a worthwhile attraction in itself. Enger is accessible from US Hwy 53 north.
This map only shows the Skyline Drive Scenic Route as far as Chester Park. See the second map lower down the page for a continuation through the Seven Bridges Road.

Actually an extension of Skyline Parkway, the Seven Bridges Road runs from the top of Hawk's Ridge looping through the sparsely populated countryside and then returns to Duluth proper entering via Lester Park.
Below are a few fall color pictures from one of our fall drives along the parkway.
