Another small sample that produces risky generalizations.

One very interesting results: none (0) of the sample voted Day Hiking as #1 favorite activity; for all other types except ISTP, it was the listed most often as the most favorite. My guess is Day Hiking just isn't "active" enough for many ESTPs.

Overall, they showed a fairly strong interest in both overnight backpacking and overnight canoe tripping. Outdoor interests of ESTPs tended to be more broadly distributed than other types.

As with ENTPs, ESTPs show a wide variety of other active outdoor interests: mountain biking, rock climbing, fishing, hunting, skiing, sailing, scuba diving, swimming, snow tubing, mountain climbing, camping, motorcycling, and road biking were among those listed. Two people listed "rollerblading" with one saying her rollerblades were essential luggage! One mentioned "trail riding" which I think may be ATVs.

ESTPs are supposed to be the quintessential outdoor fun types. Rollerblading fits this stereotype. I am also surprised we didn't see "Sky Diving" mentioned because that's another one that fits. Perhaps one reason our sample is small is because this type would rather be outside engaging in sports than inside surfing on a computer!

ESFP results closely follow that observed for ENFPs - a more typical pattern of outdoor interests: Day Hiking #1 and Overnight Backpacking #2. Compared to other types, they show very little interest in canoeing and are more likely to enjoy kayaking.

~~~~~~
Other listed interests were much less numerous than ESTPs and other ExxP types. Cycling was mentioned by one. One person mentioned "nature is just fun to be in" and another said he "just all around love(s) nature." One mentioned that whatever she did was "more fun with a group" which is something other ExxPs would echo, however I suspect for an ESFP doing it with a group would be more essential. One showed his kinship with ESTPs in saying that he liked "anything that has a little danger to it."
Fun and nature seemed to be two themes that stood out for ESFPs.
