*Total N was 6, but 2 people responded NA to all questions.

One of the smallest type sample in our survey, which in itself is revealing since ESTJs are the third largest group in the general population. Of the 6 people of this type who responded, two recorded no interest in the five listed activities nor did they offer an of their own!

If I would venture a guess as to what are more typical outdoor interests of ESTJs, I'd say team, competitive and spectator sports.

By the way, the samples for three of the four ExxJ types were much smaller than we'd expect from their population percentage and from their percentage of interest in personality type (as reflected in APT membership). In general Extarverted-Judging personality types seem not particularly drawn to these kinds of outdoor activities.

Perhaps as ExxJs, there is just not quite enough substance of people and things to organize and manage to attract them to these kinds of outdoor pursuits. And perhaps related to this is the fact that some of the types who have a reputation for being "independent" and resisting "being managed" (ISTP, ESTP, INTJ, and ENTP) are particularly drawn to these activities - thus the ESTJ would find his companions not necessarily appreciating the natural gifts he brings to the endeavor!

Two interests stand out in this relatively small sample of ENTJs: overnight backpacking & kayaking. They share the same two middle NT letters as the other two strong overnight backpacking types: INTJs and ENTPs. (The fourth NT type -INTP - is slightly more likely to prefer Day Hiking over Overnight Backpacking trips). The 4 NT types also share an above average fascination with kayaking.

~~~~~~
Other listed interests included: Snowboarding, snowmobiling, running (2), mountain biking, roller blading, water skiing (2), snow skiing (2), biking (2), ultimate frisbee, swimming, overnight camping, and long bicycle tours.
While ESTJs and ENTJs share 3 of the 4 type letters, from our small sample it appears ENTJs are much more actively involved in a broader array of outdoor leisure sports (or else they surf the internet to a much greater extent. I suspect both factors are at play here.)
The two dominant extraverted Thinking types - ESTJ and ENTJ - seem to have different leisure time interests. ENTJs seem to be drawn more to individual outdoor life sport activities. My guess is ESTJs may be drawn to more competitive outdoor sports (team sports, golf, tennis, etc.) and fishing and hunting (which also have elements of competition to them).
