ESFJs are the smallest type sample in our survey, which in itself is revealing since ESFJs are the fourth largest group in the general population. I suspect this type is not well represented Online, which could partially account for its small numbers. But also it may be fair to say, that these kinds of outdoor activities are not this type's "cup of tea."

Mentioning "tea" ESFJ is referred to by some as the "hospitality type" so we would expect hosting a tea party or a garden party would be much more fun for this type than hiking up a mountain!

Organizing and hosting social activities for groups of people is more characteristic of this type's interests. I would guess going on a cruise ship might interest this type and going on any type of group travel tour. In fact this type might be the tour director!

As noted under ESTJ, it is interesting that the samples for three of the four ExxJ types were much smaller than we'd expect from their population percentage and from their percentage of interest in personality type (as reflected in APT membership).

Perhaps as ExxJs, there is just not quite enough substance of people and things to organize and manage to attract them to these kinds of outdoor pursuits. And perhaps related to this is the fact that some of the types who have a reputation for being "independent" and resisting "being managed" (ISTP, ESTP, INTJ, and ENTP) are particularly drawn to these activities.

The ENFJ sample is tiny, but unlike ESFJs, they are also a minority in the general population. On the other hand, this type is quite active in the Personality Type community so one would expect a higher rate of participation than we received. For example, INFJs are both less numerous in the general population and in the APT population yet 30 INFJs participated in this survey vs only 6 ENFJs. As speculated with their ESFJ cousin's, this below norm participation probably reflects both less interest in active outdoor recreation pursuits and less interest in surfing the Internet as an indoor pastime.

~~~~~~
One of the ENFJ respondents added: "Love to walk and explore all nature outdoors!!!!! Camping, Fishing, Hiking........boating." Others mentioned cross-country skiing, running, mountain biking, and whitewater rafting among their outdoor enjoyments.
