The section of the Lakewalk from Canal Park to the Fitgers Brewery Complex is about a mile from the canal breakwater to Fitgers. It is nice round trip walk broken up with some window shopping in Fitgers shops, getting something to eat at one of their dining establishments, or catching a brew at the Brewpub. On the route from Canal Park to Fitger's is the Vietnam's Veteran Memorial honoring North Shore veterans.

Near Fitgers are a few other shops and interesting places. If you like ice cream be sure to work in a stop at the Malt Shoppe just east of the Fitgers Inn.

While most of the complex is shops and restaurants, beer continues to be brewed here at the Fitger's Brewpub. Most of the seating is indoors but a few lucky souls can imbibe outside in the sidewalk patio. (By the way note it is Fitger's not Fitzger's. Many people - including me at one time - added a "z" that doesn't belong!)

A few blocks NW of Fitgers is Duluth's popular Rose Garden at Leif Erickson Park that is actually built over the US61 Expressway.
